Mission: Impossible - Rouge Nation
During the predictions portion of our my podcast with Binh Ngo, I was predicting that “Mission: Impossible - Rogue Nation” would gross $70M for the weekend and “Vacation” $5M. I knew that the former would do better than expected and the latter worse. Although I was correct in that regard, I was way too high on “Rogue Nation” and way too low on “Vacation.”

Wow. Just when I thought the franchise couldn’t get any higher than the 93% score that the Brad Bird directed “Mission: Impossible Ghost Protocol” received on Rotten Tomatoes, the soon-to-be-released fifth outing is sitting on 97%. It’s still early, and there are only 30 reviews so far. Nonetheless, “Mission: Impossible Rogue Nation” is off to a fantastic start. Directing Tom Cruise this time around is Christopher McQuarrie, a screenwriter who has collaborated with the action star in “Edge of Tomorrow,” “Jack Reacher,” and “Valkyrie.”
