A horror icon is unleashed in the latest trailer for Leatherface THE TEXAS CHAINSAW MASSACRE is certainly near the top of the list of all-time horror greats, but as a franchise, it hasn't been quite so fortunate. Perhaps too much time elapsed between the release of the first installment and its sequel, but the franchise has never been able to successfully dive back into the well which made THE TEXAS CHAINSAW MASSACRE so iconic. That's not to say that it... Read More...

Texas Chainsaw Massacre Prequel Leatherface Sets Release Date Leatherface has finally gotten itself an official release date. Cinema history is full of horror franchises that began on top of the pop culture world, only to end up descending into utter ridiculousness as their installments continued. For instance, Friday the 13th‘s Jason Voorhees and Hellraiser‘s Pinhead both went into space, while Halloween‘s Michael Myers eventually abandoned stalking his relatives for the thrills of offing contestants on a reality TV show.

Texas Chainsaw Massacre prequel Leatherface finally has a release date. Leatherface was of course introduced in director Tobe Hooper’s classic 1974 fright fest The Texas Chain Saw Massacre, and is in many ways one of the grandfathers of the entire slasher genre, hitting screens years before any of the other aforementioned killers. Unfortunately, the franchise Leatherface went on to lead – so far comprised of 7 total films – has been one of the most inconsistent and strange out there.

They'd let it sit on the shelf for a bit, maybe let it collect some dust and then clean it off later for some sort of revival that fans would get excited about. That's not the case... Read More...

Texas Chainsaw Massacre prequel Leatherface continues to be an…interesting…project. French filmmaking duo Alexandre Bustillo and Julien Maury are taking a very different approach to the origin story of chainsaw-wielding villain Leatherface — much different from the pretty terrible Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Beginning. Some of their choices have seemed a bit odd, but their latest casting decision is inarguably exciting: The Conjuring and Almost Human star Lili Taylor has joined the cast. Continue reading…

The Texas Chainsaw Massacre prequel Leatherface has found its directors We learned a few months back that the next TEXAS CHAINSAW MASSACRE film would be a prequel to Tobe Hooper’s 1974 classic and would be called LEATHERFACE. Seth M. Sherwood is writing the upcoming movie which has now landed itself two directors. Julien Maury and Alexandre Bustillo, the duo behind INSIDE and LIVID will helm the horror tale. I checked those titles out on IMDb and they certainly give me faith... Read More...
