Mia Wasikowska News

Alchemy It may not have received tremendous reviews out of the festivals last fall, but Sophie Barthes‘s Madame Bovary has a number of things going for it. On the top of the list is that it stars the wonderful Mia Wasikowska and may just be one of our last chances of watching her in a costume drama that isn’t Alice in Wonderland 2 for a while. Wasikowska has otherwise been on a roll lately with her varied roles since the first Alice movie five years ago. In 2014 alone, we got to see her in Only Lovers Left Alive, The Double, Tracks and Maps to the Stars.

Simon is a timid man, scratching out an isolated existence in an indifferent world. He is overlooked at work, scorned by his mother, and ignored by the woman of his dreams. He feels powerless to change any of these things. The arrival of a new co-worker, James, serves to upset the balance.

New Pics Of Robert Pattinson, Mia Wasikowska & More In David Cronenberg's Cannes Bound 'Maps To The Stars'

fb.indiewire.com – While most films headed to Cannes are keeping a tight seal until the lights go down and the projector goes on, that's not the case for David Cronenberg's "Maps To The Stars." That may be due for the fact that the film is opening in a handful of overseas territories this summer, so regardless of the festival, they need to start advertising. 4 years 25 weeks ago via theothersenhman

Don’t trust the title. Jim Jarmusch’s newest flight into the fantasies of a teen angst and anima follows the eternal love of Adam (Tom Hiddleston) and Eve (Tilda Swinton, who else?). Comfortable in Tangier when she hears her lover is in the dumps, Eve heroically runs to her man in Ghosttown, Detroit, where he’s carved a fascinating hermit-cum-rock-star life for himself.

Watch: Mia Wasikowska Has Never Met Anyone Like Jesse Eisenberg In New Clip From 'The Double'

fb.indiewire.com – "It was the idea of somebody so invisible & lowly that their double could appear and no one would notice; that was funny," director Richard Ayoade said during a recent Q&Aabout this forthcoming "The Double." And indeed, the film's pleasures come from indulging in the absurdness of the scenario of a doppelganger emerging, consuming the life of his opposite, and no one being any the wiser except for the double. 4 years 29 weeks ago via donnieyen
