Point Break Reboot Relies Heavily On Extreme Sports Warner Bros is giving you a Christmas gift that may not have been on your list. In a reboot that was inspired by the 1991 Keanu Reeves / Patrick Swayze film… we get a new Point Break. The plot is similar: A young FBI agent, Johnny Utah (Luke Bracey), infiltrates a cunning team of thrill-seeking elite athletes – led by the charismatic Bodhi (Edgar Ramirez).

The film has become an action classic, but that's not stopping Hollywood from trying to cash in on its legacy with a new version starring Edgar Ramirez (Deliver Us from Evil) and Luke Bracey (The November Man). Let's see how these two will fare at the box office. Teresa Palmer Boards 'Point Break' Remake

Those worrying that Alcon's Point Break remake may be a bit dude heavy will be happy to learn that Warm Bodies' Teresa Palmer is joining the cast. The original 1991 movie starred Patrick Swayze and Keanu Reeves. According to Variety, Palmer is playing Tyler, the love interest of Luke Bracey's FBI agent Johnny Utah and the movie's designated damsel in distress.

Edgar Ramirez to Replace Gerard Butler in 'Point Break' Remake

Edgar Ramirez will replace Gerard Butler as Bodhi, the character originally portrayed by Patrick Swayze, in the Point Break remake, Alcon announces. Butler dropped out last week due to "scheduling conflicts." The update is set in the world of extreme sports in which an undercover FBI agent must infiltrate in order to catch a group of robbers.
