Ride Along
Even on a Superbowl weekend, where thousands of people opt to stay home and watch the fabled game, the reigning champ of the last few weekends, Ride Along, managed a third weekend perched comfortably atop the charts, pushing aside the meager new releases.

Ride Along
On Friday, it looked like it was going to be a normal weekend—several unremarkably-rated releases entered theaters, with equally unremarkable projected earnings for the weekend; odds were that Lone Survivor would take the highest earnings, and the other releases would populate the higher regions of the charts. This weekend was a blowout for one of our new releases, which earned well beyond its projected range, and worked its way to the top of the charts as a result. Mark Wahlberg's 'Lone Survivor' Faced Skepticism on Financing Side

variety.com – With Universal opening “Lone Survivor”on Christmas in two U.S. theaters, several financiers behind the Afghanistan war tale find themselves amazed that they were able to raise the funds last year at Cannes. “We knew that getting presales from the Europeans that this was not going to be easy,” recalls Stephan Martirosyan, CFO of Envision Entertainment... 8 years 33 weeks ago via donnieyen

'Lone Survivor' Director Peter Berg Talks Beards, 'Battleship' And What's Going On With The 'Friday Night Lights' Movie

fb.indiewire.com – Peter Berg is a manly director. After shepherding such testosterone-soaked films as "Very Bad Things," "The Rundown," "Friday Night Lights," and "Battleship," the director has set his sights on bringing his passion project to the big screen, in spectacularly violent fashion. "Lone Survivor" is based on Navy SEAL Marcus Luttrell's nonfiction account of how his elite unit was ambushed and fell, in the rocky mountains of Afghanistan. 8 years 34 weeks ago via jackiechan
