This Is How You Die: Watch The First Terrifying Clip From 'Insidious: Chapter 3' Looks like Blumhouse and Focus were the only ones revealing much at WonderCon to the public. Last night they showed off the first teaser trailer from “Sinister 2” and today they revealed the first clip from “Insidious: Chapter 3,” two supernatural horror franchises the studio hopes to eventually connect ala the Marvel shared universe model (points for originality of course). The third chapter in the “Insidious” series is a prequel and stars Dermot Mulroney, Stefanie Scott, Angus Sampson, Leigh Whannell and Lin Shaye. The directorial reins of the series have been passed on too.

‘Insidious Chapter 3′ Teaser Trailer: Go Back Into The Further Once Again Chapter 3 in the Insidious saga hits theaters next year and your first trailer is here. Written and directed by Leigh Whannell, Insidious Chapter 3 is a prequel to the other two films, showing how ghost hunter Elise (Lin Shaye) learns about The Further, via the plight of a young father (Dermot Mulroney) and his daughter (Stefanie Scott). It’s scheduled for release May 29, 2015.

First Look: 'Insidious: Chapter 3' Which Predates the First Two Films Focus Features just recently pushed back the release of Insidious: Chapter 3 to the summer of 2015, but we only knew one cast member and didn't have any story details. That changes with the beginning of production and a first look photo announcement revealing that Dermot Mulroney will also be joined by Stefanie Scott (of Blumhouse Productions' Jem and the Holograms) and returning cast members Lin Shaye, Angus Sampson and Leigh Wannell (who is also directing in place of James Wan).

After directing The Fast and the Furious 7, James Wan left the Insidious franchise in the hands of screenwriter Leigh Whannell. Blum still expects he can convince Wan to make another horror movie for him, joking that it could be as soon as Insidious 4.

Insidious: Chapter 2
Lin Shaye attended the Saturn Awards to present awards to winning horror film The Conjuring and winning Young Actor Chloe Grace Moretz for Carrie. On the red carpet, I spoke to Shaye about the news that Dermot Mulroney was joining the cast for Insidious: Chapter 3. Shaye was excited to welcome him, but also told me that the third chapter would reveal much more about her character, the psychic and now spirit herself, Elise.
