Liam Neeson News

The layperson may think that all the films in the “Liam Neeson Kills a Bunch of People” genre are the same, but no; for example, if the movie in question has both the word “taken” and a number in the title, steer clear. More seasoned watchers of the “Liam Neeson Kills a Bunch of People” movies know that some of the best ones are directed by Catalan filmmaker Jaume Collet-Serra, previously responsible for such trashy delights as “Liam Neeson Kills a Bunch of People on an Airplane” (aka “Non-Stop”) and “Liam Neeson Kills a Bunch o

When Taken 3 hit theaters, Warner Bros. was already pushing their next Liam Neeson outing with Run All Night. The studio even bumped up the release by a month because they pushed back Ron Howard's seafaring drama In the Heart of the Sea. And now if you're looking to see more of the action thriller that teams up Neeson with RoboCop remake star Joel Kinnaman as his son, a French trailer has arrived with plenty of new footage. Again, this doesn't look like anything special, especially since Neeson is just trying to keep his son and extended family safe.

Death on Taiwan Set of Martin Scorsese’s ‘Silence’ There was a tragic death Wednesday on the set of Martin Scorsese‘s “Silence,” which is to star Liam Neeson, Andrew Garfield and Adam Driver. The film is in pre-production at Taiwan’s CMPC Studios.

After being in the works for about 20 years, Martin Scorsese finally has full funding to get his adaptation of Shusaku Endo's novel Silence off the ground. Production was originally supposed to begin this past fall, but it took a little long to get all the money together to make it happen. Now Deadline reports Fábrica de Cine and SharpSword Films have boarded the project as producers and are fully financing the film. The cast is also solidified with Liam Neeson, Andrew Garfield, Adam Driver and Tadanobu Asano (though Ken Watanabe was once involved, he's no longer in the film).

Weekend Box Office Wrap Up: January 11th, 2015 Liam Neeson took the box office by storm yet again, while a few awards contenders made big moves. In at number 1 is Taken 3 (read our review) with $40.4 million. That may not be the best opening for a Taken film, but it’s easily the second biggest debut for a January new release, just barely behind last year’s Ride Along ($41 million). However, it’s worth noting that the Taken series has been trending downward over these last two films, despite stronger openings than the first.

But this is 2015, and it’s a little less surprising when a Liam Neeson action movie opens big. ‘Taken 3’ may not have matched the opening weekend of ‘Taken 2,’ but it’s off to a strong start. Featuring said actor on The Tonight Show, what transpires is a no-holds-barred arm wrestling match against Jimmy Fallon. Anyway, further words would merely ruin the following, so with that in mind, I’ll let Mr. Liam Neeson do the talking.

Exclusive Interview: Liam Neeson and Forest Whitaker talk Taken 3! "It all ends here."
