Guardians of the Galaxy
Guardians of the Galaxy and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles spent another weekend at the top of the box office. The newcomers -- The November Man and As Above/So Below -- performed just as expected. After recapturing the top spot from Ninja Turtles last weekend, Guardians managed to remain there with a $22.9 million take over the four-day Labor Day holiday.

Guardians of the Galaxy
After yet another weekend of disappointing new releases, it’s small wonder that holdover films would once again rule the box office. This time, however, it was a well-rated film that took the top spot (as it should be, really). This weekend went to the Guardians of the Galaxy.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles
Given that this week’s set of new releases received overwhelmingly bad reviews (and don’t have quite enough hype to fill the holes left by shoddy filmmaking), the way the charts played out isn’t super surprising—this weekend, the holdover films remained at the top, and the new releases were relegated to lower spots.

On a rainy Tuesday night, I paid $14 for a ticket for ‘Let’s Be Cops’ at my local movie theater, to watch the film amongst around 30 other people who thought this would be a satisfactory night of entertainment. While watching I kept a running diary of my experience. Watching ‘Let’s Be Cops’ is a miserable experience. Anyway, here’s how that all went… Continue reading…

It's the ultimate buddy cop movie except for one thing: they're not cops. When two struggling pals dress as police officers for a costume party, they become neighborhood sensations. But when these newly-minted “heroes” get tangled in a real life web of mobsters and dirty detectives, they must put their fake badges on the line.
