Here's The Star Trek 2 Footage Karl Urban Promised At Comic Con

cinemablend.com – Karl Urban surprised a lot of people last week when he revealed, seemingly offhand, that the villain Benedict Cumberbatch would be playing in Star Trek 2 was Gary Mitchell, a former member of Starfleet who turns evil. We could never get confirmation that Urban wasn't messing with us, of course, but the whole hubbub didn't seem to stop him going into Comic Con, where Urban was on hand to promote his upcoming turn in Dredd. 7 years 45 weeks ago via theothersenhman

'Dredd' Reviews Coming Out of Comic-Con Are Surprisingly Good

Dredd
Dredd had its first screening at Comic-Con on Wednesday and the reviews coming out of the event are overwhelmingly positive, which is surprising. I've assemble a couple of the reviews below. Apparently, the trailers for Dredd didn't do the movie justice, causing people like me to prematurely judge the movie based what's shown in those.

Dredd 3D Debuts at Comic-Con With Gory Action (But No Gold Codpieces)

movieline.com – “I hope you like your films dark and gritty,” Dredd 3D star Karl Urban declared as he introduced the debut screening of the sci-fi reboot Wednesday night before Comic-Con, emphasizing what Lionsgate’s hard-R action pic is not — namely, the second coming of Sylvester Stallone’s campy 1995 take on the comic book enforcer. 7 years 45 weeks ago via brucelee

GAAAAAARRRRYYYYY! Benedict Cumberbatch's Villain In 'Star Trek 2' Revealed?

Benedict Cumberbatch
fb.indiewire.com – While speculation has run rampant about who exactly Benedict Cumberbatch is playing as the villain in "Star Trek 2" -- with some folks utterly convinced he's Khan (or some kind of relation) -- it looks like J.J. Abrams is throwing it back even further, should this report turn out to be on the level. 7 years 46 weeks ago via donnieyen

Motion Poster for DREDD Starring Karl Urban, Olivia Thirlby, and Lena Headey

collider.com – Lionsgate has sent over a motion poster for Pete Travis' upcoming Judge Dredd adaptation, Dredd. The film will hew much closer to the original comics than the awful 1995 Sylvester Stallone film, and the first trailer wasn't too bad (although the plot has the misfortune of resembling The Raid even though Dredd wrapped shooting well before The Raid even hit theaters).

'Dredd' Trailer Online; Looks Dredd-ful

Dredd
Now that the trailer is out for Dredd, I think there's enough footage of the movie to safely pass judgment on the movie regardless of what director Pete Travis and writer Alex Garland may have suggested in their joint statement about withholding it until seeing the finished product in its entirety.

Watch: First Full Trailer For 'Dredd' Reveals It's Basically A Futuristic Version Of 'The Raid'

fb.indiewire.com – In the future, drugs are still a problem, everything looks like "Blade Runner," and dudes in helmets with consta-growl voices are the only measure of justice. Welcome to the world of "Dredd," the remake of the "The Raid" you didn't know you wanted. Starring Karl Urban in the lead role -- wearing a perma-helmet and armed with as many cornball one-liners at his disposal as laser bullets or whatever -- the film brings the comic character to life in a brand new story about an age old problem. 7 years 48 weeks ago via theothersenhman
