collider.com – Opening this weekend is Dredd 3D. As most of you know, Dredd is an adaption of the 2000AD comics character Judge Dredd, and it stars Karl Urban, Olivia Thirlby, and Lena Headey. The film follows Dredd (Urban) and rookie Judge Cassandra Anderson (Thirlby) fighting through a tower that’s crawling with thugs in their attempt to bring down drug overlord Ma-ma (Headey).

When Sylvester Stallone first donned the helmet for the comic book adaptation “Judge Dredd” in 1995, the sci-fi actioner was critically panned and tanked at the box office. On Rotten Tomatoes, it currently has a Dredd-ful score of just 15%. At the box office, it only managed $34.7M at a budget of $90M.
