Universal, Judd Apatow Make Movie Bet On Comedian Amy Schumer

deadline.com – EXCLUSIVE: Always on the lookout for actresses with breakout potential for R-rated comedies, Judd Apatow thinks he has found a winner in Amy Schumer and Universal Pictures agrees. The studio has optioned an untitled script that Schumer is writing as a star vehicle for herself. Apatow, who as producer guided early turns from Kristen Wiig and Melissa McCarthy in Bridesmaids and Lena Dunham in HBO’s Girls, is producing through his Universal-based Apatow Productions.
