Joss Whedon has lined up one whopper of a cast for The Avengers: Age of Ultron, but just like Jell-O, there's always room for Aaron Taylor-Johnson: confirming months of rumors, he's just been added to the lineup for the Avengers sequel, in which he's set to play the speedy mutant known as Quicksilver.

No matter how he's presented, James Spader as the titular murderous robot in Marvel's The Avengers: Age of Ultron seems like brilliant casting -- as he's currently proving in his NBC series The Blacklist, Spader excels at playing queerly creepy, dispassionate bad guys, and his villainous vibe should be perfect for the voice of the frighteningly powerful Avengers adversary.

It's still very early going behind the scenes of The Avengers: Age of Ultron, but even if he loves a good filmmaking secret, writer/director Joss Whedon isn't the type to keep everything firmly under wraps, a la J.J. Abrams. So while we wait to see an honest-to-gosh trailer, we can count on gobbling up a few morsels of information about the hotly anticipated Avengers sequel between now and 2015 -- such as the tidbits recently dropped by Whedon and James "Ultron" Spader.
