Joe (2014) News

‘G.I. Joe 3′ Recruits ‘Shooter’ Writer Remember the days when G.I. Joe 3 had a writing and directing team in place, and wasn’t just drifting through production limbo like so much blockbusting flotsam? Not too long ago, Paramount had Jon M. Chu locked in to continue steering the Joe ship (following his efforts on G.I. Joe: Retaliation), and with Snow White and the Huntsman screenwriter Evan Daugherty putting pen to paper on the new film’s script; they made a fine franchising combo in the abstract.

Dwayne Johnson Will Have an Expanded Role in 'G.I. Joe 3' While G.I. Joe 3 was confirmed for a 2016 release date alongside Transformers 5 and Star Trek 3, it's the one sequel will still no very little about. Director Jon M. Chu was once set to reprise his role after helming the well-received G.I. Joe Retaliation. But production delays saw him taking over another Hasbro property with Jem and the Holograms instead, and before G.I. Joe 3 could be officially confirmed by Paramount, the director was courted to jump behind the lens on Now You See Me 2, though a deal has not yet been signed. Now, G.I.

Specialty Box Office: Jarmusch's 'Lovers' Alive and Well At Box Office; 'Joe' Disappoints – Jim Jarmusch's very well reviewed "Only Lovers Left Alive" led a considerable batch of indie openers at the box office this weekend. The story of Adam (Tom Hiddleston) and Eve (Tilda Swinton), two retro cool vampires, "Only Lovers" grossed $96,976 from 4 theaters for a potent $24,244 average. The debut sits in between the performances of the director's last two films (both of which also featured Swinton). 7 years 27 weeks ago via donnieyen

TWC will bow The Railway Man, a period drama set against WWII, while SPC will open Jim Jarmusch’s vampire romance Only Lovers Left Alive. 7 years 27 weeks ago via theothersenhman

Watch: Nicolas Cage Shows Off his Deadly Snake in Exclusive Clip from David Gordon Green's 'Joe' – We've already shared a trailer for David Gordon Green's upcoming Southern drama "Joe," which will play at South by Southwest (March 7-16), but here's an exclusive clip of a rugged Nicolas Cage acting tough with a venomous viper. "Joe," which Indiewire's Eric Kohn called "...a thoughtful portrait of Southern despair," follows an ex-con played by Cage who becomes an unlikely role model for Gary, played by "Mud"s" Tye Sheridan. 7 years 32 weeks ago via jetli

First Trailer for David Gordon Green’s JOE Starring Nicolas Cage and Tye Sheridan – David Gordon Green's Joe was one of my favorite films at last year's Toronto International Film Festival, and now the first trailer has gone online. The story is about the relationship that forms between the troubled titular character (Nicolas Cage) and an abused teenager (Tye Sheridan). That's the brief logline, but Joe is primarily a character driven piece and all the more rewarding for it.

JOE Trailer: Restraint Keeps Nicolas Cage Alive - For Now – A terrific new trailer for David Gordon Green's Joe features Nicolas Cage in restrained mode as a quiet man who is finally moved to action. About the titular character, our own Ryland Aldrich described him thusly: "An ex-con with a troubled past and a penchant for making people want to hurt him, Joe is trying to turn things around in his life. 7 years 38 weeks ago via jetli
