The Giver
This weekend brings an interesting mix of new releases to theaters—we have some tongue-in-cheek mindless action, some young-adult dystopian literature-turned-film, and a risqué buddy cop comedy (sort of). The good news: a wide spectrum of genres that would normally attract lots of moviegoers. The bad news: not one of the new releases is getting good reviews, which may scare any moviegoers away.

And now the world of martial arts moviemaking is stuck between the eras where practical and very well-practiced wire techniques have been augmented with CG. 8 years 50 weeks ago via jackiechan

The Expendables 2
The pre-release buzz was there. Both Arnold Schwarzenegger and Bruce Willis would have bigger roles. Jean-Claude Van Damme and Chuck Norris were added to the cast of existing action icons.

Chuck Norris in "The Expendables 2"
When Sylvester Stallone’s “The Expendables” was released in 2010, it got 41% on the Tomatometer. That didn’t deter action fans from making it a sleeper hit at the box office, where it grossed $103M. It was one of Lionsgate’s biggest hits at the time. In this newer outing, Stallone is only starring in the film, handing the director’s chair to action vet Simon West (“Con Air”).

Before I began, don’t go any further if you don’t want to know. Even though it’s obvious that you do want to because, otherwise, you wouldn’t have clicked on this link. So here goes.
