fb.indiewire.com – “The new phrase that's floating around is you need a 'hard-bender' if you're doing a film of a certain size. A 'hard-bender' is one with eitherTom HardyorMichael Fassbenderand it never stops, it always astonishes me.”During our recenttwo-part chatwith directorTerry Gilliam, hedescribedthe casting hoops required to jump through in order to get a movie made; his latest, “The Zero Theorem,” stuck him with the lowest budget he's had for decades, but while he still ended up with a enigmatic cast led byChristoph Waltz, the film's original cast was even more curious choice. 14 weeks 6 days ago via theothersenhman

Playing The Field was a much better title for this dull alternative to the holiday lineup. America’s go-to stud for hire, Gerard Butler, plays a retired Beckham-styled soccer star who moves from Europe to Virginia to mend fences with his wife and build a relationship with his young son. Naturally he starts his journey of discovery screwing up (going broke, missing dates with his kid, watching his ex-wife inch towards marriage with a another man) and then gets a “break” when he’s asked to coach his kid’s soccer team.

If you know Alfred Hitchcock as The Master of Suspense ™, or as academia's All-Star Auteur, Hitchcock may bum you out. But if you know him as the TV personality and MC of "Alfred Hitchcock Presents," this may represent such a fall from grace. Sacha Gervasi (Anvil: The Story of Anvil) has transformed Stephen Rebello’s book "Alfred Hitchcock and the Making of Psycho" into an episode of Hitchcock's TV show, replete with the edge softening and shallowness required for broadcast.
fb.indiewire.com – With "Hitchcock" now in the Oscar hunt, and set to hit theaters next month, we're going to be seeing a lot more from this film in the coming weeks. But we just hope the rollout gets a bit smoother as it goes along. People Magazine have the first batch of new images from Fox Searchlight's awards season player, but unfortuantely they've been officially sent out via a pretty grainy page scan. 1 year 9 weeks ago via brucelee

movieline.com – Friday’s Total Recall reboot trades heavily on brand enthusiasm for Paul Verhoeven’s original 1990 dystopian sci-fi actioner, but its makers had to be careful not to invoke too much of the Arnold Schwarzenegger vehicle. And cool as it would’ve been to see the former Governator pop up in the new, grittier reimagining starring Colin Farrell, Jessica Biel, Kate Beckinsale, and Bryan Cranston, director Len Wiseman (Underworld, Live Free or Die Hard) explained to Movieline why he chose not to indulge his inner fanboy. 1 year 19 weeks ago via jackiechan

Dick, Total Recall stars Colin Farrell in the role originated by Arnold Schwarzenegger.
