Jason Blum has become the most prolific mogul of modern Holllywood, and now he’s branching into television. He was on a panel for his upcoming Syfy show Ascension for the Television Critics Association this week, and after his panel he spoke with reporters about his movie projects. Perhaps the most highly anticipated among ‘80s kids is the live-action Jem and the Holograms movie.

Unlike most cartoon- or toy-to-film adaptations, Jon M. Chu's Jem and the Holograms has gotten rolling too quickly for us to spend much time wishing it wouldn't, which makes this week's announcement regarding the film's casting far less aggravating than we thought it'd be.
