James Gunn News
Lee Pace recently expressed interest in reprising his villainous role of Ronan the Accuser in ‘Guardians of the Galaxy 2,’ which might not be very easy, given the events of the first film. And while anything is possible in the realm of superhero films, director James Gunn says Ronan will not be coming back for round 2—though he doesn’t rule out the possibility of Ronan’s revival at some point.

James Gunn had a very busy 2014 with the release of ‘Guardians of the Galaxy,’ Marvel’s superhero space opera, which went on to become one of the hugest films of the year. But even though Gunn was preoccupied with Marvel business, that didn’t keep him from seeing a lot of great films besides the one he directed, and the director has finally revealed his favorite films of 2014. Unsurprisingly, ‘Captain America: The Winter Soldier’ is one of them.

Given the fact that there have been two team incarnations with various members in the comics, there were several character combinations James Gunn and Marvel could have settled on for Guardians Of The Galaxy -- but it turns out there might have been a couple of additions (replacements?) to the final team if only Marvel held the rights. Bug (aka "Galactic Warrior") began as one of the Micronauts before joining the second GOTG team, and Gunn has mentioned previously that he likes the character a lot.

As the holiday season continues, one property that’s sure to be at the top of many lists is Guardians of the Galaxy. The Marvel Studios movie remains the highest grossing domestic film of the year, spawning a whole new legion of fans for the previously obscure characters. Some may get the Blu-ray, others a poster or action figure, but when you’re the director of the film, your level of gift gets significantly better.
In the last few days, co-writer and director James Gunn has gotten some absolutely amazing Guardians of the Galaxy gifts.

I think James Gunn is getting a little tired of telling everyone how much the Guardians of the Galaxy films will not be leading up to The Avengers: Infinity War.Here he is taking about it again:"The last thing I said was something about how the Guardians, we really are mostly focused on creating the Guardians as their own separate universe, creating the cosmic side of the Marvel Universe. It isn’t all about leading towards Avengers.
Thanos is simply larger than life.Director James Gunn had a dilemma on bringing Thanos for an appearance in “Guardians of the Galaxy.” With Ronan the Accuser being the Guardians’ primary adversary, Thanos shouldn’t overshadow the villainous role in the film.“You’re setting up this gigantic character that, in one way, isn’t really a part of your movie,” he explained to Vulture. “His presence doesn’t really serve being in Guardians, and having Thanos be in that scene was more helpful to the Marvel universe than it was to Guardians of the Galaxy.
