Expect More Movies "Inspired" by Toys, Candy, and Theme Park Rides

It's easy to be cynical about Hollywood, and we try to give ourselves daily reminders that there really are a lot of quality original movies being made in and around the studio system, even if it seems like all we get anymore are remakes, reboots, sequels, and superheroes. But those reminders don't amount to much in the face of today's triple shot of tragic development news:
