With X-Men: Days of Future Past coming out next month, 20th Century Fox showed fans at WonderCon in Annaheim an extended scene from the film this weekend. Screenwriter Simon Kinberg spoke about the film and revealed some '70s tidbits from the time travel film. For one, President Nixon himself will appear in the film.

I don’t know where this idea began, but you can imagine someone taking a look at X-Men Origins: Wolverine and thinking that if they couldn’t make Gavin Hood produce the movie they wanted with Hugh Jackman, what possible luck could they have with lesser characters that most of the world wasn’t familiar with.

With an epic storyline, amazing cast, and plum May 23 release date, X-Men: Days of Future Past looks like one of the blockbusters to beat this summer, so it comes as no surprise that Empire Magazine is celebrating the 25th anniversary of its first publication with an X-Men tie-in. Hugh Jackman and Garrett Hedlund are heading off to Neverland in Warner Bros.' Pan. They will play pirates in the movie. According to Deadline, Hedlund has beaten out Jack Huston and Ezra Miller for the role of Hook, who will initially be Peter Pan's ally before turning into his mortal enemy.
