Horrible Bosses 2
It’s a week late, but better late and never. Over Thanksgiving weekend (11/28-11/30), we had a couple turkeys. “Penguins of Madagascar” and “Horrible Bosses 2” both underperformed at the box office. “The Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Part 1” retained its top position. Unlike the horror, action and sci-fi genres, it's seemingly more difficult to improve upon what made the original film so enjoyable to begin with. While all of those genres are able to up the ante with bigger setpieces, explosions, scares and whantot, a comedy can usually only be funnier than its predecessor (or at least as funny) in order to appease audiences. Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues and Dumb & Dumber To fell short this year, but 22 Jump Street stepped up to the challenge magnificently.

The sequel directed by Sean Anders (“That's My Boy”) has been declared “rotten” by the majority of critics aggregated on Rotten Tomatoes.
