When last we saw the Pink Panther franchise, it was making young children laugh (and critics groan) with a pair of Steve Martin-led efforts to resuscitate the bumbling Inspector Clouseau character who was played so memorably by Peter Sellers in the original Panther films. The new-look Panther movies made money, but nobody was really all that excited about them, so the series went back into storage -- until recently, when MGM decided to hit the reboot button one more time.

Sony has finally given Ghostbusters 3 the greenlight, and the studio is eyeing an early 2015 shoot. Ivan Reitman has decided to step aside as director and will produce the movie for Sony instead. Reitman told Deadline that he made the decision not to direct the third Ghostbusters after Harold Ramis' funeral.

Financiers Sign On For Salma Hayek's 'The Prophet'
