Pic of David Walliams as Mr. Pumblechook In 'Great Expectations' – First look at Mr Pumblechook. You've already caught a glimpse of Jeremy Irvine's Pip and Helena Bonham-Carter's Miss Havisham from the new adaptation of Charles Dickens' Great Expectations. Now it's the turn of David Walliams, who plays the awesomely-named Mr Pumblechook. As you'll probably all remember from Mr Ramsay's third year English literature class, Mr Pumblechook is uncle to young Pip's brother-in-law and guardian Joe Gargery (Jason Flemyng). 8 years 8 hours ago via jetli

Jason Flemyng Joins Ralph Fiennes & Jeremy Irvine In Mike Newell's 'Great Expectations' – With 2012 marking the 200th anniversary of Charles Dickens' birth, it's no surprise that there's a whole spate of Dickens-related projects in the works. Ralph Fiennes, for instance, is directing biopic "The Invisible Woman," "Oliver Twist" is getting a 21st century spin in British 3D parkour actioner "Twist" (don't blame us, we didn't come up with the thing...) and even Guillermo Del Toro wants to get involved at some stage, developing an adaptation of Dan Simmons' novel "Drood," which investigates the horrifying secret behind Dickens' last, unfinished work. 8 years 15 weeks ago via theothersenhman

Ralph Fiennes & Helena Bonham Carter Joining 'Great Expectations' – The two have shared the screen as the evil Bellatrix Lestrange and Lord Voldemort in the Harry Potter franchise, but now Helena Bonham Carter and Ralph Fiennes look to be taking to the big screen with an adaptation of a more classic kind of literature. Interestingly enough, the new project will pair them with a Harry Potter franchise director as Mike Newell has landed the two actors for his previously revealed adaptation of Charles Dicken's classic novel Great Expectations. 8 years 32 weeks ago via jackiechan
