7:42 AM 6/6/2013 by Jeff Giles
It may be true that there aren't any new stories to be told, but there's still a difference between a film that tries to put a unique spin on a familiar tale and a movie that settles for a generic retelling. If you liked the cycle of attraction, repulsion and desperate rekindling that Richard Linklater and Kim Krizan began with 1995’s Before Sunrise, you’ll likely appreciate Before Midnight, the third film in the series written and produced by Linklater and starring cowriters Julie Delpy and Ethan Hawke. The new film takes place 18 years after Before Sunrise and 9 years after Before Sunset, and sees Celine (Julie Delpy) and Jesse (Ethan Hawke) navigating married life on a trip to Greece. Like the previous films, it's a lot of walking and talking, but it absolutely works because of the intimate and lived-in chemistry between the lead actors, who also co-wrote the film with Linklater. 7 years 50 weeks ago via jackiechan

Some fans of the series that started with Before Sunrise and continued with Before Sunset were a little annoyed at how the trailer kind of spoiled a certain unknown element, that fact is made clear in the first 10 minutes of the film. 7 years 51 weeks ago via brucelee
