Are these the frontrunners to play Snake in the Escape from New York remake? – As much as you (or Kurt Russell) may vehemently dislike the fact that an ESCAPE FROM NEW YORK reboot is in the works, it looks like it may happen sooner or later (although at this rate, it looks like the latter). Last we heard the film was actually inspired by the fantastic Arkham games, the second of which features a walled-in prison-like city. 7 years 44 weeks ago via jackiechan

Producer Joel Silver Talks NON-STOP, Building a Plane, Casting 200 Extras, HOME INVASION, the ESCAPE FROM NEW YORK Remake, and More – With films like Die Hard, Lethal Weapon, Predator, The Matrix and many, many more to his name, if anyone can produce an action film that takes place in the confines of an airplane, it’s Joel Silver. Joel Silver Says 'Escape From New York' Reboot May Be A Trilogy, Concept Inspired By 'Arkham City' Videogame – Nigh-on a year ago,we brought you the questionable word that Hollywood nexus Joel Silver, producer of “Die Hard,” “The Matrix,” "Sherlock Holmes” and a dozen or more major blockbusters, had got his hands on the rights to remake John Carpenter's 1981 classic “Escape From New York,” one of the more hellaciously fun films ever made. 8 years 20 weeks ago via jackiechan

Silver Talks "Escape from New York" Remake – One of the few remakes of a 1980s movie property that seems to have stalled is that of the "Escape from New York" reboot. The likes of Gerard Butler, Timothy Olyphant, Jason Statham and Tom Hardy have all been linked to Kurt Russell's iconic role of Snake Plissken at different times, but none of those versions came to fruition. 8 years 21 weeks ago via jackiechan

We kind of thought we'd dodged a bullet there, but the joke was on us.
