fb.indiewire.com – Though it feels like a lifetime, it's hard to believe it was only about six months ago that Quentin Tarantino's snarling slavery spaghetti western epic "Django Unchained" was riding high in theaters, and causing no small amount of chatter. fb.indiewire.com – While "Django Unchained" was pretty much an unqualified success, in terms of awards and money taken in (a Best Picture nomination, two Oscars and $400 million worldwide), but there'll always be an intriguing what-could-have-been hanging over it: Quentin Tarantino wrote the title character for Will Smith, and while Jamie Foxx ended up taking the part, the idea that the cleancut megastar could have starred in the bloody Western has cast a long shadow over the film. 5 years 4 weeks ago via donnieyen

ARGO is solid but problematic; Django Unchained is a mess of errant genres; Les Mis is bloated, bombastic and juvenile (which should make it Best Pic frontrunner); and AMOUR is already up for Best Foreign Film so why vote that?

Just like last year, it's all a last minute thing.
