collider.com – The cast of the long-in-development adaptation of the 1980s TV series The Equalizer is starting to come together. Denzel Washington has been set for quite some time in the lead role of a former covert operations officer who dedicates his life to helping people in trouble. The production has seen both Nicolas Winding Refn and Rupert Wyatt enter and exit the director’s chair over the past couple of months, but Washington’s Training Day helmer Antoine Fuqua is now firmly set to bring the film to fruition. 1 week 4 days ago via jackiechan

Nicolas Winding Refn's loss appears to be Rupert Wyatt's gain: The Rise of the Planet of the Apes director is in talks to replace Refn in the director's chair for Sony's upcoming big-screen adaptation of the '80s CBS hit series The Equalizer. The Hollywood Reporter's sources have confirmed Wyatt's potential involvement in the film, which comes after weeks of rumors following Refn's departure because, as THR puts it, "he didn't see eye-to-eye" with star Denzel Washington.
