The final trailer has arrived online for Dawn Of The Planet Of The Apes, in which the breakdown between apes and humans is shown in all its heartbreaking detail. The new trailer picks up ten years after the events of the first film, with Caesar leading a culture of apes living in peaceful harmony, undisturbed by the humans that have been decimated by simian flu. However, there are still some human survivors remaining, and although Caesar attempts to keep things civil between both species, it isn't long before battle lines have been drawn once more.

The new 'Dawn of the Planet of the Apes' trailer will hit the web tomorrow, but an earlier look, via the first clip and new TV spot, has arrived today, and things are looking pretty intense for humanity in this terrifying new world. But then again, we kind of deserve it, right? Continue reading…

How Rise of the Planet of the Apes led to the events to be chronicled in Dawn of the Planet of the Apes is the focus of a new featurette/viral video released for the Matt Reeves sequel. The Simian Flu, inadvertently created by the CDC in the first film, quickly becomes a worldwide pandemic, and five years, then six, then seven later, there’s still no cure and the human population succumbs to near extinction as governments shut down and even more horrifically, the internet completely crashes permanently. And all this before the real movie even begins.

RISE OF THE PLANET OF THE APES brought a great balance of characterization, empathy and an action-packed third act.
