‘Dawn of the Planet of the Apes’ Review: Who Knew Apes Firing Dual Machines Guns Could Be So Emotional? 20th Century Fox Rise of the Planet of the Apes was so impressive it washed the taste of Tim Burton’s failed Apes remake out of our mouths for good.

Keri Russell Talks Dawn of the Planet of the Apes If, like me, you were a fan of the WB’s Felicity then it’s very amusing to ponder the fact that the co-creator of that series, Matt Reeves, and the show’s star, Keri Russell are teaming up again on Dawn of the Planet of the Apes, which Reeves directed. While Russell has worked with Felicity’s other creator -- a guy named J.J. Abrams -- since Felicity ended (in Mission: Impossible III), Apes marks her first time reuniting with Reeves. Watch: New Clip From 'Dawn Of The Planet Of The Apes' Shows A Softer Side Plus WETA Featurette Goes Behind-The-Scenes So far, the promos for "Dawn Of The Planet Of The Apes" have been intense, highlighting the action, tension and fear the sequel will be bringing to the story kicked off in the solid "Rise Of The Planet Of The Apes." But it's not all monkey vs. man mayhem as this latest promo highlights. We nearly forgot he was in the thing, but Kodi Smit-McPhee leads this latest clip, a quiet moment in the forest where he befriends a primate, much to the astonishment of Jason Clarke and Keri Russell.

The technological whizzes at WETA have been helping out in that regard, with director Matt Reeves describing the studio as having taken "a quantum leap forward". As a result, we have the most realistic-looking simians the franchise has ever seen. You will believe that an ape can operate a shotgun! Take a look at the new video, below... Needless to say, the finished product looks utterly jaw-dropping.

Two New Dawn Of The Planet Of The Apes Clips Land If you go down to the woods today...As we swing ever closer to the July release date for Dawn Of The Planet, we’ve apparently already had the final trailer for the film, which you can find right here. Dawn, as you may know by now, is set a decade after the events in Rise.

Two new extended international TV spots for Dawn of the Planet of the Apes take a different approach to the story than the final domestic trailer released last week. Tons of new footage reveals how Caesar came to rule his ape army, building a community for his fellow chimpanzees, orangutans and gorillas. Watch as a species evolves into something new, becoming the dominant living force on planet earth.

Watch: Koba Is Dangerously Playful In Clip From 'Dawn Of The Planet Of The Apes' Sure, the goal of all sequels is to make things bigger, badder and better than the previous movie, but that doesn't always necessarily mean smarter too. And in the case of "Dawn Of The Planet Of The Apes," it seems the filmmakers are bringing some real intensity to the followup that continues to look more promising with each passing moment. A new clip has arrived, and while it's probably more spoilery than we'd like, it's pretty gritty stuff.
