Will Wong Kar-Wai Finally Break Through at the Box Office with "The Grandmasters?"

Believe it or not, none of Wong Kar-Wai’s films were ever hits in Hong Kong, even though they starred some of Hong Kong’s biggest box office draws - Andy Lau, Tony Leung Chiu-Wai, Leslie Cheung, and Maggie Cheung. His biggest hit was his debut film “As Tears Go By” (Andy Lau, Maggie Cheung, Jacky Cheung), which grossed HK $11.5M ($1.5M US) in 1988, according to Wikipedia.

The Grandmasters – It may have taken close to five years to make it to the screen, but Wong Kar Wai's The Grandmasters has finally finished shooting and appears to be committed to its 18 December release date. The Man With The Iron Fists – I’m really curious about The Man With the Iron Fists, which is the martial-arts laden directorial effort from RZA of the Wu-Tang Clan. RZA is doing a promo tour for the soundtrack now, but Universal isn’t showing the film yet.
