It seemed a little odd that Richard Linklater seemed eager to follow up Boyhood -- one of the more critically acclaimed prestige pics of this or any season -- with a remake of the live-action/animated Don Knotts comedy The Incredible Mr. Limpet, which Warner Bros. has been struggling to remake for years.


Director Richard Linklater Exits 'The Incredible Mr. Limpet' – After being attached to the remake of The Incredible Mr. Limpet since March 2011, Richard Linklater has now pulled out of the project.The director has exited due to scheduling complications, after he realized that his future plans didn't match up with Warner Bros.' timeline for the project. Breck Eisner No Longer Directing 'The Karate Kid 2'

Just three months after signing on to direct Sony's Karate Kid sequel, Breck Eisner has dropped out of the project for Vin Diesel's The Last Witchhunter, Deadline has learned. No word on when either movie will be shooting, but apparently, their production schedules overlap, so Eisner has to choose between the two.

Breck Eisner Drops Out Of "Karate Kid 2" – A little over two months after he signed onboard, filmmaker Breck Eisner ("Sahara," "The Crazies") has dropped out of "The Karate Kid" sequel at Sony Pictures. Eisner has cited scheduling conflicts as the reason for the departure. The project isn't going away though as two new writers, Jeremiah Friedman and Nick Palmer, have come onboard.

Edgar Wright Exits Marvel's 'Ant-Man'

Edgar Wright and Marvel Studios announce in a joint statement that the two party has parted ways on Ant-Man and a replacement director will be announced shortly. Creative differences reared its ugly head once again. The parting is said to be "amicable" and the release date of July 17, 2015 will not be impacted. This is shocking news to say the least since the movie is deep in pre-production with the cast assembled and filming set to begin this month in Georgia.
