Review: 'Man of Steel' Is Frustratingly Close to Super

"Tell me, how do you make a superman?" asks singer/songwriter Bob Schneider in the opening line of his song "Flowerparts." He then proceeds to run off a list of the expected ingredients -- "Courage and a steady hand / Conviction and a damn good attitude / Spiritual and moral fortitude" -- before reversing course and reminding the listener of what really makes a man super:

If you're still waiting to see Ryan Reynolds play Marvel's "merc with a mouth" in a full-length Deadpool movie, well, you probably shouldn't hold your breath. But if the project ever does get off the ground, screenwriters Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick assure us it'll be everything fans have hoped for.

It seems like it's been an eternity since we first heard Edgar Wright's name connected with Marvel's Ant-Man movie -- and with a scheduled release date of November 6, 2015, our wait to see his take on the oft-misunderstood hero won't be ending anytime soon. But not to worry: As he promised IGN during a recent interview, that was always part of the plan.
