Back in 2010, eventual Spider-Man: Homecoming director Jon Watts and writing partner Christopher D. Ford uploaded a trailer to the Waverly Films YouTube channel simply called “Clown.” The trailer had an interesting premise and claimed to be the next film from Cabin Fever‘s Eli Roth: Click here to view the embedded video. Roth eventually saw the trailer and offered to help Watts and Ford get it made. Dimension Films picked up the film before shooting began in late 2012, but delayed its release in the US until now.
