Tom Cruise in "Mission: Impossible Rogue Nation"
Wow. Just when I thought the franchise couldn’t get any higher than the 93% score that the Brad Bird directed “Mission: Impossible Ghost Protocol” received on Rotten Tomatoes, the soon-to-be-released fifth outing is sitting on 97%. It’s still early, and there are only 30 reviews so far. Nonetheless, “Mission: Impossible Rogue Nation” is off to a fantastic start. Directing Tom Cruise this time around is Christopher McQuarrie, a screenwriter who has collaborated with the action star in “Edge of Tomorrow,” “Jack Reacher,” and “Valkyrie.”

The fifth Tom Cruise headlined Mission: Impossible movie – a project that reunited Cruise with his Jack Reacher director Christopher McQuarrie – is racing to the finish line faster than originally expected, following its release date having been bumped up by five months.

Last we heard, Christopher McQuarrie was retooling the ending of Mission: Impossible 5, resulting in a bit of a delay. According to the director, that’s not really accurate. McQuarrie took to Twitter for a spontaneous Q&A, fielding questions from fans of the series. The director addressed that issue with the ending, which characters won’t be back (and which ones get more screen time) and when we can expect the film’s official title and trailer. Harris, should he accept the mission, will join a cast that includes Tom Cruise, Rebecca Ferguson, Jeremy Renner, Simon Pegg, Alec Baldwin, and Ving Rhames.

The latest batch, which you can check out in the gallery below, features Tom Cruise and Rebecca Ferguson ("The White Queen") filming atop the roof of the opera house.

Ving Rhames to return for MI5 & Stellan Skarsgard will appear in Avengers 2 Director Christopher McQuarrie recently announced on his Twitter Ving Rhames will return as Luther Stickell in MISSION IMPOSSIBLE 5, making him the only actor to appear in every MI flick besides Tom Cruise. Filming for the next MISSION IMPOSSIBLE movie should start by the... Read More...

Jack Reacher
Jack Reacher wasn't quite the critical and commercial world-beater that Paramount and Tom Cruise were hoping for, but the movie grew stronger legs overseas, and with a $218 million worldwide gross, the prospect of a sequel was bound to prove alluring -- and so it has, now that word's gotten out that the studio and its star are at work on a follow-up.
