One of Thor's unexpected pleasures was just how disarmingly funny it managed to be, while still making plenty of room for the straight-faced epic adventure the comic is known for. Given its title, we've been expecting something a bit grimmer from the upcoming sequel, Thor: The Dark World -- and those expectations have been confirmed by the movie's first trailer.

In the Works: Michael Mann Scopes Hong Kong and Chinese A-Listers for Upcoming Cyber Thriller, Starring Chris Hemsworth
feedproxy.google.com – Director Michael Mann has reportedly arrived in Hong Kong, where he's planning to shoot his next film, a cyber-thriller starring Chris Hemsworth. Mann is looking to cast a pair of Chinese actors for two major roles in the currently untitled project. A report from The Hollywood Reporter says that A-list Chinese actors Tang Wei ("Lust, Caution"), Nick Cheung Ka-fai ("The Stool Pidgeon") and Shawn Yue Man-lok ("I Come with the Rain") were all seen coming out of the hotel where Mann and his production team are staying. 48 weeks 18 hours ago via theothersenhman
fb.indiewire.com – The racing genre as a whole doesn't offer a whole to choose from, particularly when it comes to dramas that just stick to the race track and don't burn your retinas like "Speed Racer" or jack up your experience with 'splosions like the "Fast & Furious" franchise. In fact, it's been a while since we've had a movie set strictly on the race track, but Ron Howard's "Rush" is not only getting behind that wheel, he's telling a great story to go with. 48 weeks 2 days ago via brucelee

We still have more than two years to wait before The Avengers 2 reaches theaters, so we can definitely expect plenty of rumors, half-truths, and assorted spoilers over the coming months. In the meantime, Joss Whedon is one of the only people who really has any idea of what we can expect from the all-star superhero sequel -- and he dropped a pretty dark hint on Saturday (February 23) during a Q&A session in Ireland.
feedproxy.google.com – Say what you will about Michael Mann, but the man has a vision and he's committed to it. His famous digital photography that worked so well in Collateral didn't fit the aesthetic of his period piece Public Enemies, and though he directed the pilot of the failed HBO series "Luck" since then, the filmmaker hasn't helmed a feature in four years. 1 year 3 weeks ago via jackiechan
deadline.com – EXCLUSIVE: I’m told that Marvel Studios has found its female lead for the sequel Captain America: The Winter Soldier. They are in talks with Emily VanCamp, who makes the leap to the big screen after starring in such series as ABC’s Revenge, the WB’s Everwood and Brothers and Sisters. She joins Chris Evans in a sequel that doesn’t have a firm start date, but will be released April 4, 2014. 1 year 5 weeks ago via donnieyen

The first rule of sequels is that you have to make everything bigger (as well as better, if you can help it), so we kind of figured Marvel had some pretty heavy stuff in store for the God of Thunder in Thor: The Dark World. And now, thanks to executive producer Craig Kyle, we have a clearer idea of what he'll be up against.
ign.com – There's no question that Thor was one of the tougher nuts to crack in Marvel's Phase One slate of films. But thanks to both Chris Hemsworth's dedicated performance and Kenneth Branagh's classy direction, the first Thor movie ended up being the surprise hit of the studio's first round of Avenger movies. 1 year 5 weeks ago via donnieyen
