Pacific Rim is the newest by beloved director and monster-fan Guillermo Del Toro, but it doesn’t feel like his typical fare. Del Toro’s established himself as a visually ingenious director, a man with affection for his childhood monster makers and a penchant for doling out respect in the form of artfilms.

Will Pacific Rim bomb? Fandango shows the movie tracking along the lines of World War Z – We brought you the alarming news that PACIFIC RIM was in danger of being not only a box office bomb of LONE RANGER proportions but also may make half as much as the Adam Sandler "movie" GROWN UPS 2. New Pacific Rim Trailer Is The Best Yet – I was saying yesterday that I was getting the distinct feeling that Pacific Rim was really about people, not machines, at least more so than the marketing had been telling us, and this latest trailer certainly seems to confirm this, swinging strongly in the direction of the human story. Pacific Rim
In Pacific Rim, giant alien creatures are invading Earth through a dimensional rift under the ocean, and the only hope humans have against this threat are giant robots called Jaegers. The problem with these robots is that they require two pilots to be in perfect sync to operate. The featurette below explains why.

New Trailer for Guillermo Del Toro's PACIFIC RIM – Another trailer has been released for Guillermo Del Toro's Pacific Rim. The story is kicked off by the emergence of monsters (known as Kaiju) who start a war that devastates humanity. To fight back, humans build giant robots (known as Jaegers) that are controlled by two pilots. The latest trailer explains how the Jaegers work, but the main focus is the scale of the kaiji-vs-jaeger battles.

Pacific Rim Offers a Look at a Kaiju Skull – Guillermo del Toro's upcoming film Pacific Rim will pit monsters versus robots in a way unlike anything we've seen before and the entire world will be getting in on the action. With events as global as the film appears to have, it makes sense for the world to remember those moments afterward. 6 years 40 weeks ago via donnieyen

Pacific Rim
There are movies that want to make us laugh, movies that want to make us cry, and movies that want to try and help us learn something important about the human condition. And then there are movies that exist for no other reason than to stimulate the robot-and-monster-fueled pleasure center deep in the heart of our inner eight-year-old boy.
