Filmmakers Anthony Russo and Joe Russo, who directed this year's hit Captain America: The Winter Soldier, hinted back in August that Red Skull, played by Hugo Weaving in 2011's Captain America: The First Avenger, may return for Captain America 3. Obviously, that report came a few months before Marvel announced their full Phase Three slate, which will kick off with Captain America: Civil War.

And he's very aware that there's a lot of speculation that his villainous Crossbones might appear in Captain America: Civil War, but the news hasn't been made official yet. Still, the actor spoke freely about his eagerness to return to the superhero sequel.Because the film is called Captain America: Civil War, one might assume that Crossbones will definitely appear in said film. After all, the character plays a hand in the assassination of Captain America.
