I Origins in Dolby Atmos: A Whole New World You May Not Care About

11:10 AM 7/18/2014 by Sara Vizcarrondo
The Dolby Atmos theater system delivers audio from speakers located on all four wall of the theater and the ceiling, so when you hear rainfall it’s almost like feeling it. When the dragon Smaug galumphs across screen you hear his tail wrap itself around you. When gunfire blazes off a 3D screen past your head, you might just duck.

I Origins

I ORIGINS follows a molecular biologist whose study of the human eye points to evidence with far reaching implications about our scientific and spiritual beliefs.

First Look: New Films Starring Ryan Reynolds, Nicholas Hoult, Brit Marling, Asa Butterfield Kit Harington & More – The Cannes Film Festival is in full swing, and that means lots of deals, attachments, signings, news and yes, first looks. And there’s a bunch. First up is probably our most anticipated of the lot because of the filmmakers involved. Here’s a first look at “Mississippi Grind” from Anna Boden and Ryan Fleck, the directors of “Half Nelson” and “Sugar.” They stumbled a little with “It's Kind of a Funny Story,” but everyone can stumble when your taste seems to be as omnivorous and diverse as theirs (they’ve done a drama, a sports film and a mental illness comedy so far). 6 years 48 weeks ago via jetli

INTERVIEW: Zal Batmanglij Separates Fact from Fiction for thriller THE EAST

1:15 PM 5/31/2013 by Sara Vizcarrondo
In 2009, Zal Batmanglij and Brit Marling took a journey. “We lived on the road, exploring America’s underground,” Batmanglij says. There they met men and women who were hopping trains, dumpster diving and living outside as a political gesture. At the time, “it wasn’t research, it was just living life.” The two were interested in “infiltrating the film industry” which makes this story of a piece with The Sound of My Voice, their last thriller about infiltrating a culture, but at the time they met this era’s conscientious objectors, they had no plans to make a film about them.
