Watch: Become Stronger With The Super Bowl Spot For 'Gods Of Egypt' Tomorrow, America's annual tradition that combines high calorie food, hokey entertainment, expensive advertising, hours of pre-game programming, and somewhere in there, a football game, will get underway with the Super Bowl. And that means Hollywood will be in full force promoting everything they can, even if it's stuff like "Gods Of Egypt." Lionsgate has unveiled their game day ad for the CGI dazzler, which brings together Gerard Butler, Brenton Thwaites, Nikolaj Coster-Waldau, Courtney Eaton, Elodie Yung and Chadwick Boseman for the mythological tale.

The Giver
This weekend brings an interesting mix of new releases to theaters—we have some tongue-in-cheek mindless action, some young-adult dystopian literature-turned-film, and a risqué buddy cop comedy (sort of). The good news: a wide spectrum of genres that would normally attract lots of moviegoers. The bad news: not one of the new releases is getting good reviews, which may scare any moviegoers away.

‘The Giver’ Stars Brenton Thwaites, Oyeda Rush Talk Their 8 ‘Emotionally Draining’ Auditions (Video) “The Giver” filmmakers picked their leads very, very carefully. During a sit-down with TheWrap, the film's young stars Brenton Thwaites and Odeya Rush discussed how much more extensive their auditions for the Phillip Noyce adaptation of Lois Lowry‘s classic YA dystopian novel were compared to other films. “Usually an audition is 10 or 15 minutes, this one was an hour,” said Rush, who plays Fiona in “The Giver” opposite Thwaites’ Jonas. “This one was an hour. We did it so many times and at the end I was really just emotionally drained.

‘The Giver’ Director, Author on Why Brenton Thwaites’ Jonas Was Aged Up; YA Dystopian Trend (Video) Like many of her book's fans, “The Giver” author Lois Lowry was nervous at first about some of the changes director Phillip Noyce and the filmmakers behind the adaptation had made to her classic YA dystopian novel. Lowry and Noyce sat down with TheWrap to talk about their movie, how it fits into the current landscape of trendy YA dystopian novels and why the lead character Jonas, played by Brenton Thwaites, had been aged up from 12 in the books to 18 in the movie. The haunting story of THE GIVER centers on Jonas (Brenton Thwaites), a young man who lives in a seemingly ideal, if colorless, world of conformity and contentment. To contrast last week’s single release, this weekend brings a sizeable batch of new releases, with a fairly large variety of genre, plot, and quality. That being said, this weekend’s fare is still a great deal better (or at least better-rated) than the vast majority of the last several weeks’ worth of mediocre films.
