Jack Ryan: Shadow Recruit
This weekend offers quite the variety of films—an action-thriller that jumpstarts a long-dormant franchise, a campy cop buddy comedy, a zany animated family film, and a found-footage horror flick. Pretty much none of it was well-received, but if you’re not picky, there’s something for everybody out in theaters this weekend.

Review: The Nut Job (All Nuts, No Glory)

The Nut Job
The Nut Job (like The Italian Job, but terrible) is a Canadian/Korean co-production. Somehow I expect this information to explain the film’s over-attentiveness to slapstick and lack of intrigue—but maybe it only justifies the movie’s overbearing use of Gangnam Style. Please see the publicity still above as a representation of the film’s anticipated critical response.

A pregnant teenager flees life with her drug-addicted mother and ends up living on the street before being welcomed into her first real home in Gimme Shelter, an extraordinary tale of survival and redemption inspired by actual events. The 3D animated family comedy catapults moviegoers to planet Baab where admired astronaut Scorch Supernova (Brendan Fraser) is a national hero to the blue alien population. A master of daring rescues, Scorch pulls off astonishing feats with the quiet aid of his nerdy, by-the-rules brother, Gary (Rob Corddry), head of mission control at BASA.

Brendan Fraser Must Protect His Family in the Thriller 'Split Decision'

Brendan Fraser
feedproxy.google.com – It's been a long time since Brendan Fraser was in anything even approaching watchable. He appeared in the Oscar-winning Crash back in '04, but that movie carries such a negative connotation in the film world that it may as well have been directed by Brett Ratner. I'm actually a fan of Stephen Sommers' first The Mummy, but that came out all the way back in 1999. 8 years 7 weeks ago via theothersenhman
