Someday, Marvel is bound to step in it with one of their adaptations, and their impressive streak of successfully bringing seemingly non-cinematic properties to the big screen will end with one costly failure or another. But from the looks of it, that totally isn't going to happen with Guardians of the Galaxy.

In the past, one of the crucial missteps Hollywood always seemed to make when attempting comic book adaptations was a widespread inability to understand why people read the books in the first place -- not because they took place in crazy situations, but because those wild stories were anchored in easily identifiable stories with real human emotions.

We’ve quite the large batch of new releases heading our way this weekend; while a group of four new releases can be rare, rarer still is that three out of the four were met with decent critical reception, with the lowest rating received (of the well-received films) being 75%.

Standing in front of a Rembrandt, con artist Irving Rosenfeld (Christian Bale) explains to FBI agent Richie DiMasso (Bradley Cooper) the painting’s a fake. Irving’s mantra is “everyone believes what they want to believe” and it’s the clearest truth life’s ever provided. Saying the Rembrandt’s a fake is a way of letting this G-man in on a secret.
