Director Denis Villeneuve Discusses Blade Runner 2 I’ve often said Blade Runner is the most fascinating movie I don’t actually like. It’s endlessly compelling from the standpoint of its production design, photography and the implications of the story, but the film itself is not particularly entertaining. Director Ridley Scott spent twenty years tinkering with it, proving story was not his main objective. Nonetheless, it’s a film worth looking back on. Though opinions of the film vary, its overall importance to science fiction filmmaking is never in question.

Harrison Ford Is Back For The ‘Blade Runner’ Sequel And These Things Should Be Too Harrison Ford is officially back for the "Blade Runner" sequel, but he shouldn't be the only part of the first film to return for round two.

Ridley Scott Won't Direct 'Blade Runner' Sequel Ridley Scott is letting someone else take over the Blade Runner sequel. The director revealed that he is no longer going to direct the film. He helped developed the screenplay alongside Hampton Fancher (who, with David Peoples, wrote the original film), and will still be active in the sequel’s development, but only as producer. A director will be announced later.In an interview with Variety, Scott said, “We talked at length about what it could be and came up with a pretty strong three-act storyline.”The project, is planned to go into production next year.
