Review: Quartet (Life and Love in the Later Years)
9:41 PM 12/19/2012 by Sara Vizcarrondo
Dustin Hoffman’s Quartet is a quick and charming story of late life revival, so surprisingly lithe you’d hardly believe it was a directorial debut. Like an upscale Best Exotic Marigold Hotel, Quartet begins with a retirement home, but this home is made more auspicious by its residents, each of whom is a retired musician—and not just any fiddler or chanteuse, but Europe’s cream of the symphonic crop.

Weinstein Company Acquiring Dustin Hoffman-Directed 'Quartet'
deadline.com –
EXCLUSIVE: The Weinstein Company is negotiating to acquire U.S. and Latin America distribution rights to Quartet, the Dustin Hoffman-directed comedy that stars Maggie Smith, Billy Connolly, Michael Gambon and Pauline Collins. The script was written by Ronald Harwood. The deal is upwards of $3 million, I’m hearing. Yes, The Pizza Planet Truck Is In Brave, And That’s Not All
bleedingcool.com –
There are lots of Pixar traditions, from the regular casting of John Ratzenberger to the repeated appearance of A113, the number of the classroom where John Lasseter studied at CalArts. One such recurring Easter Egg is the Pizza Planet truck, as first featured in Toy Story. There’s been some speculation as to whether or not this truck will appear in Brave, it being a period picture set in a Scotland of some not-entirely-distinct-but-seriously-pre-motor-vehicles past.
