Big Eyes Review Can mass-produced art ever be considered high art? It’s not a particularly new question, but one that nags away beneath the surface of Big Eyes, Tim Burton’s biopic of popular American artist Margaret Keane, her divisive work, and the bizarre horror story of her marriage to Walter Keane. Like Ed Wood before, it’s more drunken history than exacting biography, with the script taking frequent liberties with the truth and, at times, straying far from realism.

Tim Burton Says BEETLEJUICE 2 Script Is “Pretty Good”, Hopes to Speak With Michael Keaton Soon For whatever reason I'm still pretty excited for Beetlejuice 2.  Maybe it's the uptick in Tim Burton's quality of work in recent years.  After hitting a creative nadir with Alice In Wonderland (what a mindfuck it has to be when your worst movies are the most successful ones financially and your best ones, like Ed Wood, bomb the hardest) I actually really enjoyed Frankenweenie quite a bit.

In case you missed it, pop sensation Lana Del Rey co-wrote and performed two original songs for director Tim Burton's upcoming film “Big Eyes.” Grammy-nominated Del Rey is evidently a big fan of Burton’s. “I've admired Tim Burton's work for many years and I'm honored to work with him on such a poignant project," she said in a statement. Del Rey sings "Big Eyes" in the movie, a song she co-wrote with Daniel Heath — and which is featured front and center in the film — and "I Can Fly," which she co-wrote with Rick Nowels and which plays out in the credits.
