Beverly Hills Cop 4 has been rumored since 2007, and was sidelined for a bit when a potential CBS TV series was in the works. The sequel has a fairly definitive 2016 release date now, and producer Jerry Bruckheimer confirmed he expects to have a shooting script within a month.

Disney is serious about releasing a Star Wars movie in theaters every year starting with Episode VII. Before this decade is over, we'll be seeing three spin-offs in between the main episodes. Efforts to turn Beverly Hills Cop into a TV series didn't go anywhere, but apparently, the pilot for the TV show tested so well that Paramount wants to put the fourth movie in production.

Two decades after Beverly Hills Cop III's disappointing box office sent the franchise into hibernation, and a year after CBS passed on the chance to air a Cop-inspired spinoff series, Beverly Hills Cop 4 has officially been greenlit, with a release date scheduled for March 25, 2016.

Superproducer Jerry Bruckheimer seems to have landed on his feet since exiting his first-look deal with Disney -- in fact, he's already got himself a new deal at Paramount, where he's working on getting a slew of high-profile sequels off the ground, as well as potentially rolling on another Pirates of the Caribbean movie for his old friends at Disney.
