Launching a new take on the box office-saturated “Paranormal Teen Romance” genre in early 2013 was perhaps not a good idea. Twilight fans were still reeling from the end of their beloved franchise, The Hunger Games Mockingjays were busy gearing up to share what had become a hugely successful franchise, Divergent devotees were busy dream-casting, and Percy Jackson fans (fan?) were far too consumed with celebrating that their (his or her?) series was not dead.

Despite the paltry reviews most of this last week’s releases received, they all made a somewhat respectable showing for themselves at the box office.
First and foremost among the new releases is A Good Day to Die Hard, which grossed $25 million over the weekend, for a total of $33.2 million (as the film first opened in theaters on Valentine’s Day).
