Best Picture Nominees 2013: …”inherently thrilling”

ARGO is solid but problematic; Django Unchained is a mess of errant genres; Les Mis is bloated, bombastic and juvenile (which should make it Best Pic frontrunner); and AMOUR is already up for Best Foreign Film so why vote that?

ARGO Wins Best Film from Southeastern Film Critics Association; SEFCA Honors BEASTS OF THE SOUTHERN WILD with Wyatt Award

Argo
collider.com – Plenty of regional critics associations are announcing their winners, but I'm reporting on the picks from the Southeastern Film Critics Association since I'm a member (also, according to Awards Daily's Sasha Stone, we have influence!). I have to admit I'm pretty disappointed with the results. Argo was chosen as the Best Picture of the year, and while I could see its inclusion in the Top 10, it's a fun thriller without much depth.
