'Beasts of No Nation' Review: Netflix's First Original Movie Needs to Be Seen on the Big Screen Beasts of No Nation marks the streaming video giant’s first serious attempt to become a major player in the feature film world, the same way they’ve become a giant in the world of serialized TV. And what’s most surprising about that first serious attempt is the fact that Netflix made a movie that will probably not play very well on Netflix.

A big screen movie made by streaming media behemoth Netflix, for click and view streaming, Cary Fukunaga's beautifully brutal war story, Beasts of No Nation feels too large and too difficult a watch to warrant a casual click on a stay-at-home Friday night.

The digital distributor has debuted a new trailer for Cary Fukunaga's Beasts of No Nation, their first ever original feature film release. The film is premiering at the Venice and Telluride Film Festivals this week, so be on the lookout for early reviews and feedback. In the meantime, this full-length trailer gets into the very intense story about a boy named Agu, played by newcomer Abraham Attah, who gets recruited into a unit of guerilla fighters led by Idris Elba.
