Centered on CIA extraction expert Tony Mendez (Ben Affleck) during the 1979 Iranian hostage crisis, Argo tells the story of how Mendez, with the help of some Hollywood people, thought of and executed this crazy idea of getting six Americans out of Iran under the cover of making a sci-fi movie.
