Writers Guild Awards Go to 'Argo,' 'Zero Dark Thirty,' and 'Searching for Sugar Man'

WGA Awards – The East Coast WGA Awards show got under way at New York's BB Kings a good hour before the pokey West Coast, and attendees tweeted up a storm. Soon the trades ran with the news that the key film awards had gone to the adapted screenplay for "Argo" and original script for "Zero Dark Thirty." WGA West was still running clips from nominated screenplays like "Silver Linings Playbook" after the winners had been announced ("Argo"'s clip was the WGA joke, natch.) Best Picture Nominees 2013: …”inherently thrilling”

11:58 AM 2/11/2013 by Sara Vizcarrondo

Bootleg Argo DVDs Selling Like Hotcakes in Iran – Earlier this month, Iran decided not only to ban Argo, but also to film their own version that, according to its director, will function as an "appropriate response to the ahistoric film." SAG Awards Film: 'Argo's On A Roll. Is It Unstoppable Now?

Argo – Though the media often refers to SAG’s Outstanding Cast in a Motion Picture award as the guild’s version of Best Picture, SAG balks at the comparison saying their winners don’t always match up and in fact are strictly what they say it is, an honor for a cast. But with Argo‘s big win in SAG’s marquee film category tonight I think this year at least it definitely is a Best Picture award. 9 years 22 weeks ago via jetli
