Review: 'Jupiter Ascending' is a Mixed Bag of Story and Imagery Good or bad, the films of the writing/directing sibling duo, The Wachowskis, have always struck a chord of interest. Even their less respected works either present noteworthy, sci-fi questions or deliver cool, sci-fi extravaganzas for the senses. Jupiter Ascending is their film most deserving of deep deconstruction. It’s a messy film, one that seems to have been sadly cut to shreds by post-production meddling. Its frantic structure and goofy accents keep it on the fringe of landing as highly as many of their previous works, perhaps all of them.

Why ‘Jupiter Ascending’ Is a Big, Bold, Beautiful Mess [Video Review] The Wachowskis’ Jupiter Ascending is a total mess. It’s plot is nearly incomprehensible. It feels like there’s a director’s cut out there with at least a half hour more of explanatory plot details and character development. It introduces various story lines and characters whose appear on the screen for minutes before they vanish and are never followed up on. It borrows heavily from The Wachowskis’ own film, The Matrix, yet is crammed full of ideas that have appeared in other, better fantasy and sci-fi films. And yet, I couldn’t help but enjoy it.

Channing Tatum, Mila Kunis’ ‘Jupiter Ascending’ to Premiere at Secret Sundance Screening Andy Wachowski and Lana Wachowski‘s sci-fi space epic “Jupiter Ascending” will debut Tuesday at Sundance Film Festival as this year’s “secret screening,” an individual with knowledge of the situation told TheWrap. Channing Tatum and Mila Kunis star in the intergalactic odyssey, which was originally scheduled for a July, 2014 release. But Warner Bros. pushed the opening back by almost a year to Feb.

"The idea of one director, one vision is absolute rubbish," Andy Wachowski says in an extensive 100-minute chat alongside Lana Wachowski as part of the DePaul Visiting Artists Series in 2013 (via Slashfilm). It's a wide-ranging conversation conducted just as the directors had finished shooting "Jupiter Ascending," covering much of their career (including an anecdote about meeting Steven Spielberg before the two shot their debut feature "Bound").

New TV Spot For 'Jupiter Ascending' Warner Bros. Pictures UK has released another new extended TV Spot for “Jupiter Ascending,” an original science fiction epic adventure from filmmakers Lana and Andy Wachowski. The film stars Mila Kunis, Channing Tatum, Sean Bean, Eddie Redmayne, Douglas Booth, and Doona Bae.The film follows Jupiter Jones (Mila Kunis) who was born under a night sky, with signs predicting that she was destined for great things. Now grown, Jupiter dreams of the stars but wakes up to the cold reality of a job cleaning other people’s houses and an endless run of bad breaks.

"I will harvest that planet tomorrow before I let her take it from me." We're finally getting close to Jupiter Ascending hitting theaters after it was delayed from its original release date this past summer. Because of the delay, we've already seen a good amount of what's in store for the film from Andy & Lana Wachowski, but a new French trailer teases a bit more of the big sci-fi action, and that along with the gorgeous visual seems to be the biggest selling point.
